The Bristish standards clearly depict global educational best practices as teacher expectations are clearly defined in terms of professional work ethics and the discharge of assigned job duties.
The products of this education system I’m sure will come out well balanced with abundance of 21st century competencies such as collaborative skill, communication skill, critical thinking and creativity skills.
Hoping our Education Boards in Nigeria will borrow a leaf from this and ‘join the moving train’ rather than whipping unwarranted prejudices against anyone with a foreign certification.
Wao! What an amazing indepth standard of learning. These processes or ways of learning in Britain is a sure way fire to fit into the 21st century skills.
Will our educational board and private schools owner imbibe on this, instead of borrowing so many ideologies from different countries and, yet non I achievable due to unhealthy rivalry?
Learning has clearly evolved in other parts of the world. I hope it does in Nigeria because the truth remains that we are bound by the curriculum and ancient practices. No matter how much Educators are willing to learn and stretch, our policies are made and implemented by people who have no clue on the modern teaching techniques. It’s sad.
In-depth learning is focused more in this type of learning .There is greater balance in learning when these approaches are used.
British teaching standard still remains on top of the game in the world educational standards because they embrace the best practices that are students oriented. The learners are taught how to think and not what to think as practiced in most African schools Nigeria inclusive.
They understand that the quality of education is measured by the knowledge that the curriculum aims to impact into the students and ensure that professionals in curriculum planning are given the opportunity to plan with emphasis on the quality of what is offered to their learners which is a factor of how robust their curriculum is and how it is delivered.
Unfortunately in our country, working in government ministries where curriculum are planned and handed to all schools is a factor of whom you know and not what you can offer, and that is why you see a graduate of Religious studies planning curriculum for Chemistry teachers to teach because his uncle is a permanent secretary, your guess of what these acts has done to Nigeria education is as good as mine.
The essence of education is for students to be creators, critical thinkers and apply the knowledge in problem solving.
British standard allows critical thinking , I think if embraced in our educational system will enable learners think out the box and become Job creators in this 21st century .
If these British Standards of learning can only be applied to our method’s of teaching then, the problems of differentiation will be completely solve.
British standard is activity based, it involve critical thinking which will work positively for our environment.
Quality of education received by a learner is dependent on the knowledge the curriculum impact on the learners and how it’s delivered.
Wow! that’s awesome.I think British standard is the best.is activity based.it is child’s centered, and it involve critical thinking which which will work positively for our environment.
This approaches to learning rae very crucial applying them in the classroom will be very useful
The British standard of learning is a clear definition of Global acceptable standard of learning that is applicable to this present time and age. Making sure learners are great thinker and problem solver.
It’s just unfortunate that some of us are not privileged to have this British standard of education. However, I believe this training is a step towards the right direction to get what we can, and apply where necessary.
The British standard of learning is obviously an holistic method of learning building critical thinkers and problem solvers
Amazing diverse approaches to learning which help to ensure that, irrespective of a learner’s ability, s/he has something to hold on to at the end of every learning engagement. This way, no child loses out. With such approaches being used by the teacher, learners are actively motivated to learn and their interests can be actively sustained.
The British Teaching Standards display an intense understanding of the needs of the learners and it is both teachers and learners centred. A well researched document that is relevant and specific.
